We carry on the bold legacy of former Genzyme CEO Henri Termeer, who was committed to mentoring emerging leaders and whose dedication to patients resulted in groundbreaking treatments. We understand that bringing new treatments to patients is grueling work with a low probability of success. We believe we can improve these odds by positively impacting the human variables in healthcare. By supporting biotech leaders, we seek to increase the probability of creating cures and solving healthcare’s greatest challenges.

OUR STORY
FOUNDING & FUNDING
Belinda Termeer, wife of the late Henri Termeer, witnessed first-hand the power of values-driven leadership and believes deeply that by influencing the human variable in biotech, more cures will reach patients. The shared vision in starting the Foundation was to surround first-time leaders with coaching, mentoring and programming that would catalyze a greater number of teams to deliver cures to patients. In forming the Foundation, Belinda Termeer and Alan Walts created a robust framework reliant on external support. They knew that initial funding would be more transformative if the Foundation sought the financial support of those committed to influencing patient outcomes. With outside donor help, from multi-year campaign contributions to annual fund donors, we can make a greater impact. Through 2030, the Foundation’s operating costs are funded. All annual programmatic expenses are dependent on external funding. Our goal is to build a network of leaders, all of whom contribute resources and time to achieving our mission, for the betterment of patients worldwide.
