Foundation plans for program growth under new leadership with novel program enhancements and collaborations

BOSTON, January 10, 2022 — The Termeer Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on connecting life science innovators and catalyzing the creation of new medicines, today announced the appointment of Erica Mawby-Roche as Director, Termeer Fellows Program. In this role, Erica will be working closely with the Foundation’s Executive Director, Catharine Smith, and Foundation leadership to strengthen and grow the Termeer Fellows program which has been a mainstay of the organization since its inception in 2018. She will be responsible for overseeing the Fellowship program, communication, applicant screening process, and community and corporate outreach and engagement strategies and activities. She will also work closely with The Termeer Foundation Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Executive Director.

“Erica brings extensive experience in program development and leadership within the non-profit arena to this newly-established position,” said Catharine Smith, Executive Director, The Termeer Foundation. “She has a passion for working within collaborative environments and as the Foundation seeks to create novel growth opportunities within the Termeer Fellows program, her background makes her perfectly suited to this effort.”

At the heart of the Termeer Foundation is the Henri Termeer Network comprised of some of the life science industry’s most promising future company leaders; all of whom are working with the single purpose of developing medicines that one day will treat patients and potentially cure diseases. This emerging group of professionals – the Henri Termeer Fellows – are supported by a collection of committed and established biotechnology executives who serve as Mentors to the Fellows and offer their expertise in a host of business areas.

“The Termeer Foundation team has built an amazing organization and network of young biotech entrepreneurs and first-time CEOs through the Fellows program and its supporters,” said Erica Mawby-Roche, Director, Termeer Fellows Program. “This represents a huge opportunity, and responsibility, from which to create a broader and impactful program for current and future Fellows as we help them address a wide range of needs that may help them foster company growth.”

Erica most recently served as the Vice President of Day and Employment Services at Fidelity House, Inc. a position she held from 2014-2021. Fidelity House is a non-profit organization in the Merrimack Valley and during Erica’s tenure she led three departments focused on providing individualized and innovative services to adults with disabilities as well as students and Veterans. Among these services included: team and program development that helped foster program growth, sustainability, and enhanced service delivery.

Erica holds a bachelors’ degree (Sociology) from Saint Anselm College and is a current fellow in the 2021 LEADS cohort (Leaders Engaged and Activated to Drive System-wide change).
